Zu Designs was formed by myself in 2003 in response to pressures from the private sector for consulting services in the town planning field. The company is proficient in spatial and framework planning, rezoning and general statutory planning work. We specialise in dealing with contentious rezoning work, special projects involving redevelopment of areas which including the creation of special zones, community liaison and fast-tracking of applications. We have an in depth knowledge of statutory systems and an ability to interact with communities and council officials and to forge relationships in a manner which lead to conflict resolution and the provision of workable solutions. The current development boom has led to substantial work opportunities due to diminishing existing zoned development opportunities. The main scope of work in the market currently focuses largely on the statutory element with the nature of development undertaken including multiple unit residential developments, shopping centres, petrol filling stations, office parks and industrial developments. The Company is able to apply all the statutory processes utilised to convert land uses which embraces Framework Planning, the creation of outline plans, the zoning creation required for implementation thereof, including statutory planning elements such as Rezoning, Special Consent and management of Site Development Plans
